Imagine how angry you would feel if this ever happens to your child.
No parents want to see their kids getting hurt, especially if it was done by the people they have entrusted to take care of their children.
Recently, a 24-year-old maid was arrested after being caught on video throwing a 5-year-old boy to the ground in Punggol, Singapore.
The incident was recorded by a witness and uploaded it onto Facebook.
The abuse was eventually uncovered after the boy's father stumbled upon the viral video on Facebook two days after the incident.
According to the boy's mother, on the same day of the incident, her son did tell her about his injuries after being thrown to the ground but when she confronted the maid, she denied the accusation.
The maid even claimed that the boy injured himself while rolling around on the field.
The mother could not do much about it as she did not have enough proof to lodge a police report.
"The domestic helper kept insisting that she did not hurt him, so I did not probe further," said the 35-year-old mother.
However, after the father saw the video, they immediately lodged a police report.
The maid has since been detained by Singaporean police but she refused to answer or apologise over the incident.
Terrified by the incident, the mother revealed that she decided to quit her job to take care of her children.
She also said that she does not wish to hire another domestic helper as she feared her children may be abused again in the future.
However in today's reality, it is not easy to support a family, so the boy's father is currently working two jobs to sustain the family.
Parents who hire a maid to take care of their children or sending children to the nursery need to always be alert and aware of any suspicious behaviors.
