Kelantan drug dealers offering customers free guns

Do you know that Malaysia has one of the best gun control laws in the world?
However, for the past few years, Malaysians have been shocked over news of shooting incidents around the country.
In October last year, a 35-year-old man was shot several times in the stomach after leaving a convenience store along Jalan Persiaran Tropicana.
Though Malaysia has one of the best gun control laws, there are still many illegal ways for a person to get a gun.
In fact, it was recently reported that Kelantan drug dealers offer ‘packages’ where customers can receive a free gun along with any drug purchase.
Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Hassanuddin Hassan said this package was allegedly offered by drug distributors from neighbouring countries.
“The guns supplied by these drug dealers are for private use. This case is currently being investigated under Section 38B of the Dangerous Drugs Act and the Firearms Act.”
Kelantan police discovered the drug dealers’ new tactic after they raided a home in Kok Lanas on Feb 25 about 12 am.
Four men aged between 24 and 53 were arrested while 290 bottles containing a total 1.6kg of heroin and 2.kg of methamphetamine amounting to RM71,980 were also seized.
Hassanuddin said after further investigations, one of the suspects confessed and brought the police to another house in the same housing area where they found more bags of heroin, methamphetamine, and a revolver in a wooden wardrobe.
The suspects told police they had received their drugs from a supplier in Thailand.
All the suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and have since been remanded for 7 days since their arrest.
Bravo Kelantan police!
