Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar Ibrahim has announced that she will be serving her final term as a federal lawmaker and also her resignation as a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) member.
Nurul Izzah lamented that it had been a difficult year for her, revealing how she nursed a broken heart brought on by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's return to power.
"It's been so turbulent and tumultuous. I've learned so much, but I think my heart's been broken as well, somewhat," said the heartbroken daughter of PKR chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Nurul Izzah said it was not easy having to once again work with the man who brought down her father nearly two decades ago and sent him to prison.
"I mean having to work with a former dictator who wreaked so much damage, not just on our lives, but the system. It was not easy," she said.
However, Nurul Izzah's announcement has triggered a slew of reactions including from politicians.
Amanah's Jasin parliamentary co-ordinator Khairuddin Abu Hassan on his Facebook slammed Nurul Izzah's negative comments on Tun Mahathir describing is an unethical.
Economic Affairs Minister, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali tweeted this today.
But its clear he was referring to Nurul Izzah.
Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad slammed Azmin for calling Nurul Izzah a cry baby as it was a cheap move by him.
Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin or KJ in his reply to Nik's tweet said that Azmin cannot provide solutions.
Not wanting to miss the action, Syed Saddiq lashed out at KJ. But at this point, netizens said that his tweet was irrelevant to the issue.
Azmin then said let's talk over lunch and not via tweets.
Maybe they all should be doing this as after all, Nurul Izzah has her own stand and we should respect that.
Or maybe these politicians should focus more on their work rather than 'fighting' on social media.
