The government needs to be firmer in handling the issue of tahfiz schools as the number of unfortunate incidents have been rising.

The issue of unregistered tahfiz schools must be taken seriously while registered tahfiz schools should also be monitored closely as over the past few years, there have been several reports of misconduct and incidents at the schools.

In another case two years ago, s reports, on September 2017, 21 tahfiz students and two wardens died in a fire at the Tahfiz Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah in Kampung Datuk Keramat, Kuala Lumpur.

Recently, a tweet showing a video of a parent confronting a tahfiz teacher for abusing his child has gone viral.

In the viral video, the father of a boy is seen showing the Ustaz a picture as proof that the teacher was abusing the children there.

“I send my child to you with high hopes. I cry every night as I miss my child,” he was heard saying.

However, the teacher is not accused of abusing the children physically but also sexually as he also allegedly asked them to kiss him on the lips.

The person who recorded the clip also sounded frustrated as he demanded an answer from the Ustaz on his actions.

There is also a tweet showing the police report on the incidents.
